Ray's Virginia Produce uses two of eight acres to cultivate fresh vegetable produce for market. The operation also harvests seed stock for seed catalogues.
About the Practices
Ray's Virginia Produce keeps the soil covered by utilizing cover cropping practices. To energize with diversity, they apply compost to promote microbial activity and build organic matter and utilize crop rotation to promote diversity and avoid the depletion of specific nutrients in the soil.
